Professional and Personal Background:
Susanne has intimate knowledge and experience of intercultural mental health concepts and resulting illnesses and is furthering her education in civil conflict management. For many years she developed, monitored and evaluated governmental and non-governmental international cooperation psychosocial projects. Since 2010, she has been investigating trauma-sensitive approaches in crisis intervention and the impact of structural violence on mental health. Her psychological work considers social and individual frameworks.
Susanne offers psychological counseling and science-based psychotherapy. She supports international specialists and managers in coping with emotional stress, crises, existential questions, depression and fears. She develops psychoeducation, peer support training and customized mental health training for organizations and companies and delivers resources in German and English. Her approach combines schema therapy, resource orientation, Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), and impact and experience activating techniques.
Susanne works with clients in a creative and methodologically diverse way, using humor and rapport building to help clients re-access their own situationally hidden resources. This way, clients continue to perform well in challenging work and life situations and recognize options. She sees her working relationship with clients as a corrective experience that helps them to embrace and drive change.
“My intention is to enable clients to gain access to their inner resources and strengths, so they can develop new and helpful strategies to manage all challenges they encounter. I invite them into a professional and authentic relationship that is safe and transparent. Together, we create new nurturing experiences, meaning, and understanding.”
