Kees studied applied physics and philosophy in the Netherlands, focusing on the social responsibility of science and technology. He started working in the non-profit sector in Europe, and managed several international projects.

Since 1995, he has turned increasingly to mediating social conflicts and furthered his education in mediation, conflict management, organization development and coaching. For over 25 years, Kees was engaged in several capacities for international cooperation and peacebuilding programs. Since 2004, he is working as an independent coach, mediator, trainer and organization development consultant.

Kees coaches and advises executives with international program and team responsibilities. His strength is his ability to combine reflection and humor. As such, he can give unexpected insights that stimulate new perspectives and flexible thinking. This is how he opens up deadlocked situations and supports change processes. Kees facilitates dialogue workshops and mediation, multi-stakeholder workshops, team development workshops and conflict coaching for specialist and managerial staff.
